Salt water fly fisher man known locally and by his friends as "Flyboi" got off the mark with some wonderful salt water game angling. Fishing in the Ballycastle area of Co Antrim 2 hours up to high tide, he originally fished a floating line 7wt rod and a natural eel surf candy lure, had many fish follow the lure but only to have a look.
He then moved onto his next mark and upped his rod to an 8/9wt and his fist cast he struck into a lovely 50cm pollock. The fish put up a very good scrap making strong runs and after a quick picture was returned to fight another day. There has been coalies and more pollock caught in the Ballycastle area recently with some pods of dolphins also spotted. Will definitely fish well in the very near future.
